The Persistence Of Vision
Walnut, blackened steel, paper, rubber, and motor.
2013
A kinetic sculpture named after the theory of visual perception, where a series of still images in rapid succession create the illusion of a single fluid moving image. The sculpture consists of a motorized carousel containing images of an eye that appears to be dilating back and forth, creating a self referential dialogue between the object, its actions, and the viewer's perception.
